Nicom Ltd. Awarded Winning Customer Award from Microsoft Corp.

Nicom Ltd. was awarded a Winning Customer Award from Microsoft Corp. Awards were presented to 35 companies from around the world and Nicom was one of two companies in Canada who won the award. The winners of this, and several other awards, were announced at the 2004 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Program Conference, Microsoft's premier annual event for industry partners (Microsoft Certified Partners), on July 13, 2004 in Toronto, ON. Nicom was chosen based on our successful and innovative implementation of a customer solution based on the Microsoft Platform using Microsoft's latest technologies that exceeded our customer's expectations.

The Microsoft Certified Partner Program provides partners, whom have to qualify to become a partner, with various resources in training and support. Partners also have access to various marketing tools and networking opportunities to assist them with promoting their companies and services and identifying opportunities.

Our winning award submission was based on a Novell Netware migration that Nicom performed for Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres, Halifax Office. This included configuring a new Microsoft Windows 2003 server and migrating services, data and user information from a Novell server to the new Windows server. During the changes, both the old and new servers were accessible by the users so there was very little downtime and disruption to daily tasks. Once completed, they had an up-to-date system that met their current and future needs with the capacity to be expanded as needed.

"Needless to say, we were extremely pleased to receive this international recognition from Microsoft" said David Nicholson, President of Nicom. "It certainly validates the high level of service that we provide to our customers".

In addition to receiving a crystal trophy, Nicom will receive recognition through marketing kits, dinner with a Microsoft General Manager as well as a credit equivalent to $10,000.00 US.
