Nicom IT Solutions is the largest independent IT consulting company in Nova Scotia. We have been providing professional services locally and across Canada for 25 years. The services we provide include IT Consulting, Custom Software Development, Web Site Design & Development and Infrastructure Support.
Position Summary
Due to our continued growth we have an immediate requirement for a seasoned technician to join our Technical Support team.
This position requires the ability to interact with our customers on an on-going basis and will appeal to those who enjoy dealing with people over the telephone and in person. Your job will be to provide technical support services to a variety of organizations in a variety of industries.
You will be responsible for new server installations of hardware and software, upgrades to servers and desktop PCs, software installations, trouble-shooting and problem resolution – in other words, you will be “the” computer person for a number of installations.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Well versed in the Microsoft Server technologies such as Windows 2000/2003
- Experience with Exchange, IIS, ISA and Active Directory
- Previous Microsoft Exchange Administration experience is an asset
- Experience providing customer support (in person, or via e-mail / telephone)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written)
- Demonstrated understanding of quality customer support practices
- Having an MCSA or MCSE is a definite asset
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in an environment that is dynamic and fast-paced
